GAPPI is a self-governing association of Private Investigators. GAPPI was created to educate members, enforce code of ethics, and to establish mutual feelings of trust and friendships among its members and other investigative agencies throughout Georgia and the United States of America. GAPPI also strives to monitor and educate members about legislative issues that directly affect the investigative industry.

The Georgia Association of Professional Private Investigators, Inc. was founded and incorporated under the laws of the State of Georgia in July, 1996.

GAPPI accomplishes their educational goals through the Southeast Investigators Conference, held annually, a spring conference, and monthly Chapter meetings. The conferences attract top speakers to address the important issues facing you as an investigator while also providing an accepted method of achieving the mandated continuing education requirements of the State Licensing Board. The monthly chapter meetings provide an additional opportunity to meet your continuing education requirements in a more personal setting, providing greater opportunity for questions, answers and interactions with our guest speakers.

Our Code of Ethics, and our annual ethics training sessions provide you with knowledge and guidance to help you make ethical business decisions when they are representing you and your company.

GAPPI has played an active role in monitoring proposed legislation that would affect our members… speaking for that legislation that would benefit the profession and against legislation that would not serve the profession or our clients.

Finally, GAPPI provides an opportunity for members to meet others in the profession, stay abreast of the newest techniques and technology, and ultimately expand your business capabilities and client offerings.

The Colorado State Investigators’ Association was formed in 1992. Prior to that, a handful of state investigators, federal agents and local police and sheriffs’ investigators met informally to develop an information sharing network. As they grew concerned with the lack of training available at a reasonable cost, especially with the legislative demise of the Colorado Law Enforcement Training Academy (CLETA), the idea for a more formal entity to facilitate that training grew.

In April 1992, the group drafted a constitution and its first set of bylaws and formally incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation called the Colorado State Investigators’ Association, Inc. (CSIA).

The purpose of the CSIA, as outlined in its constitution and bylaws, is:

The CSIA is not a union and does not get involved in, or become part of, the political process, but will, in special circumstances in accordance with the bylaws, endorse legislation regarding laws or issues pertaining to the good and welfare of law enforcement.

The PPIAC, founded in 1978, was formed to improve the credibility of private investigator’s, and to provide guidelines for a licensing statute in the State of Colorado. These efforts were realized on June 1, 2015, when mandatory private investigator licensing once again became law in Colorado. This was partially due to the continuing commitment of PPIAC to support such legislative endeavors.

PPIAC focuses on continuous education while providing framework for ethical conduct. The public knows that it can rely on the members of this organization. All members have passed a thorough background check and firmly believe in a high standard of conduct.

The PPIAC fosters professionalism in its members. By keeping the private investigative community apprised of legislative changes (as well as forthcoming modifications that may affect the profession as a whole), investigators remain up-to-date with the governing statutes.

While PPIAC continues to monitor legislative issues that can impact our businesses, PPIAC also creates venues for networking, continuing education and training.

Our mission is to perform our duties within the scope of the law… to conduct ourselves and our businesses responsibly and ethically… to protect the confidentiality of our clients… and to maintain and enhance the skills and talents upon which our clients depend.

The object and purpose of Professional Investigators of California, (PICA) is to promote and maintain the highest ethical practices in the profession of Private Investigator; to perpetuate a spirit of cooperation among its members and the general public; to establish and further a mutual feeling of trust, goodwill and friendship among professionals throughout the industry, nationally and worldwide; to advance the profession with ongoing educational opportunities; to protect the consumer public; and to articulate and advocate the needs, interests and benefits of the profession before the media, and the legislative branches of local, state and federal government.

PICA encourages industry professionals and qualified students to take an active part in a growing industry by applying for membership in Professional Investigators of California. Members have many opportunities to take advantage of a wide range of benefits, including medical, dental and vision; general liability insurance; educational seminars; access to investigative tips and resources; free and open Listserve; Workserve, website and member directory; business networking; employment opportunities, including outsourcing and subcontracting references.

What are the benefits of membership with AALPI?

AALPI is just beginning a remake and rebranding of itself. As this process progresses, more and more benefits will become available. AALPI currently has a member’s only list serve that addresses members questions with answers from other members. The listserve also provides listings for work that is available.

We are currently in the middle of a redux of our website. We list current member’s agencies across Arizona and contact information for those in need of investigate services. As of now, the website provides news of upcoming events. Advertising will be available on the site for those vendors providing discounts to our members.

A quarterly e-newsletter named The Chronicle is starting up again with legislation updates and helpful information for investigators. Advertising will also be available for those who so choose.

We also provide an organization for investigators to step up and volunteer to strengthen our profession both here in Arizona and nationally.

Why should every PI in Arizona be a member?

Well, first and foremost, a strong association benefits one and all of its members. I believe that most associations are feeling the pinch of “non-joiners”. AAPLI is attempting to turn this around. We need members who choose to be active in the association and their chosen profession. We have much to offer.
